Testosterone is a hormone that affects both men and women, but primarily men, and it increases in quantity as you go through puberty and hit your peak, at which point it starts dropping off as you age.
The profound effects it has on the human body as it is lost have been well-documented over the past few years. Despite that, there have been no serious efforts to make changes.
The only true answer here is "what makes you feel your best" at the smallest possible dosage. Testosterone levels vary dramatically, with numbers being reported as low as in the 100s and as high as 1100, though general consensus is that 600 to 800 is "normal" by traditional thinking. Yet, that same thinking says that low is not until around 270. One individual could have had a peak of 900 and feel terrible at 400, while another may have peaked at 650 and not feel terrible until 300. Same symptoms, considerably different numbers. Unfortunately, it is also something that isn't checked until later in life, so knowing what that 'peak' was is nearly impossible. There is no set number that is right, which is why every client gets an individual plan that is right for them.
